01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Restaurante Japonés - TOKYO, nestled on Av. Miguel Cano in the vibrant heart of Marbella, is a true gem for lovers of authentic Japanese cuisine. This intimate and warmly welcoming eatery offers an exquisite array of dishes that transport your taste buds straight to Japan.

The culinary highlight here is undoubtedly the sushi, which customers frequently praise as the freshest and finest in the region. Juha Reima’s glowing remark—“The best sushi ever had in Spain. Beats easily Nobu and other big names”—perfectly encapsulates the exceptional quality and precision of each bite. From impeccably sliced sashimi to beautifully crafted rolls like the must-try dragon roll with superlative salmon, the menu celebrates authentic flavors executed with expert care.

Beyond sushi, the menu del día offers a delightful selection of three small but satisfying dishes, creating an elegant yet accessible dining experience for lunch. The delicate balance of tastes and textures here makes every dish a celebration of freshness and subtle umami, a sentiment beautifully echoed by Kata Okros, who also appreciated the personal touch of a New Year’s calendar gift — a lovely symbol of the family-like atmosphere TOKYO exudes.

Dining at Restaurante Japonés - TOKYO feels like visiting a close-knit family’s home, where the relaxed ambiance complements the attentive and genuinely friendly service. Whether you’re coming with family, as Andres Sanchez Yague did, or seeking a quiet culinary retreat, the warmth of the staff makes every guest feel special.

For those seeking a genuine taste of Japan in Marbella, TOKYO is a culinary sanctuary where freshness, flavor, and hospitality come together to create unforgettable moments.

Fresh and nice option for a menu del dia (menu of the day). It contains three different dishes. They are small but it was enough for me. In the end the owner gave me a present, a calendar for next year. So cute

The food was good. It took us a while to decide because the large “boat” option with different sushi, making and sashimi did not conviene us. We finally went for medium boat and a dragon roll with butterfish. This last one was truly amazing. The staff is ok. But not highly attentive. The tables are put very close together inside so it feels you are nearly sharing table with the couple next to you. Terrace outside is on busy street and for this type of restaurant could have done an effort to give a better atmosphere also outside. But as said the main thing: the food was really good and great price/ vale.
